CHIC Technical Goals

The technical goals to be achieved during the duration of the project are quantified and summarized below.

Hydrogen Infrastructure Technical Goals

  • All H2 stations will have minimum refuelling capacity of 200 kg per day or minimum 50 vehicles per day
  • All H2 stations will feature the capability to be upgraded to minimum of 100 vehicles per day
  • Average availability of all installed H2 refuelling stations will exceed 98% operation time
  • H2 cost OPEX will be less than 10€/kg (excl. tax) with the goal to achieve 5€/kg (excl. tax) during the project
  • The production efficiency for the H2 production will be between 50 and 70% (Net Calorific Value)
  • H2 quality will be according to the Society of Automotive Engineers Standard J2719

 

Fuel Cell Hydrogen Bus Technical Goals

  • Average availability of all FCH buses will exceed 85% (based on operation time)
  • Fuel consumption will be less than 13 kg/100 km (depending on drive cycle)
  • Minimum running distance of 2,75 million km of the deployed FCH bus fleet during the project
  • Minimum of 160.000 hours of operation of the deployed FC bus fleet during the project
  • Fuel cell life time of >6000 hours of operation
