Nordic Political Seminar presents Next Move in Clean Hydrogen Transport

Together with HyER (formerly HyRaMP) the Scandinavian hydrogen organizations organized a Nordic Political Seminar in Oslo on June 21, 2011. At the seminar the necessary Next Move to effectively integrate clean energy carriers in transport and energy systems was discussed with regional politicians and senior civil servants in the fields of growth and innovations, infrastructure and mobility, environment and energy. Hydrogen buses in public transport along with other applications of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies were presented to play a key role in the cleaning of local energy and transport systems.

Experiences were exchanged with representatives from European and Scandinavian regions, which are at different stages in the deployment of zero-emission transport solutions. Funding opportunities and  next steps and areas of increased collaboration were presented.

Accelerating the decarbonization of energy and transport systems will require active support of public authorities for the roll out of applications that are powered by clean energy carriers like electricity and hydrogen.
