European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, in cooperation with the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Minister for Infrastructure and the Environment Melanie Schultz van Haegen, invites Ministers, Members of the European Parliament and key stakeholders to Rotterdam to discuss the development of the Trans-European Transport Network, with a special focus on the Core Network Corridors, ERTMS and Motorways of the Sea (MoS), their implementation and financing.

Fuel cell and hydrogen technologies had a prominent place at last year’s edition in Riga. Bus operators signed a letter of understanding, handed over to Commissioner Bulc, in which they indicated their willingness to integrate fuel cell buses in their fleets.

This year, the fuel cell bus sector will be present as well, with the following activities planned:

  • A stand at the indoor exhibition: the fuel cell bus sector will be represented as part of the H2Nodes (10 Ro) stand in the “tabak building”, see exhibition map here. the H2nodes project seeks to make hydrogen refueling infrastructure and public transport a reality in Arnhem (Netherlands), Riga (Latvia) and Pärnu (Estonia)
  • Fuel cell buses ensuring shuttle service for European Commission staff and VIPs, as well as available for test drives on Monday and Tuesday
  • Signing ceremony: Dutch provinces going for fuel cell buses! on 21 June , a Dutch signing ceremony on fuel cell buses will take place at the H2Nodes stand from 17:15 to 18:00.  The signatories will state their commitment to deploy fuel cell buses in their regions and highlight the necessity of having an FCH JU fuel cell bus large demonstration project in 2017.
  • The H2 Nodes project coordinator will participate in the session “deploying alternative fuels on the TEN-T: the corridors leading the way” on 22 June in the morning
