The Norwegian region of Akershus, which includes the capital Oslo, has adopted a strategy for the early introduction of hydrogen on 17 March 2014. The initiative aims to facilitate the intodruction of hydrogen vehicles within the wider goal of phasing out fossil fuels.

Over the next four years Akershus plans to deploy 350 hydrogen vehicles, including taxis and at least 30 buses. Hydrogen refuellng infrastructure is also targeted, with the goal being to have a refuelling capacity for at least 10,000 cars and 100 buses. A summary of the strategy can befound here.
